a recommendation: ‘Hobbes & Me’

Do you know that feeling when you discover something you never knew existed before and it’s awesome and you’re so hyped? Like a sequel to your favorite book? Something like that? Well, yesterday I discovered something that’s just…too cool. And that something is Hobbes & Me, a series of short videos (like usually less than a minute) that are adaptions of specific segments of the Bill Watterson comic strip Calvin and Hobbes. I am a HUGE fan of the original comic, so when I found Hobbes & Me, I freaked out internally.

Here’s my fave episode. And here’s a link to the whole playlist. Sadly, there are only eight episodes. We need morrrrrre!

Have you heard of Hobbes & Me before? What are your thoughts on this mini-adaption?

  1. I was literally just telling The Younger Sibs this evening how insanely good the Calvin and Hobbes comics are … but I had no idea this existed!! Now I’ll have to check it out!

I’ll always have a soft spot for Calvin because he’s exactly like my older brother. ❤

  2. I’ve definitely had that feeling of an exciting discovery. Can’t think of anything specific at the moment, but sometimes it’s an actual good sequel to a movie I remember watching as a kid, or when I discovered a while back how brilliant the Avatar: The Last Airbender TV series really is. There have been at least a couple of times when I learn years later that a movie I enjoyed when I was younger is actually a remake, and that the original is noticeably better.
